Job description

Volunteer Recruitment

Engage volunteers, including those from partner churches, other community volunteer groups, schools, companies fulfilling corporate social responsibilities etc. to

  • Plan, organize and run centre-based active-ageing programmes and interest groups
  • Participate in home-based Befriending service
  • Ad-hoc festive events

Volunteer Training and Development

  • Arrange and conduct training together with a team of volunteer trainers for volunteers in Communication skills, dementia awareness, chronic disease knowledge etc
  • Organise monthly meetings for volunteers to peer sharing and learning (Caregivers Club)
  • Administration of the time-banking scheme

Monitor the work of Befriending

  • Coordinate outreach efforts with volunteers/volunteer groups to identify socially isolated seniors
  • Conduct baseline and review assessments of seniors requiring befriending
  • Facilitate matching of befriender-befriendees
  • Monitor the effectiveness of befriending through regular reports from befriender and feedback surveys from befriendees
  • Onward referrals to case management executive for service linkage and care coordination if necessary

Administration – assist the Manager to

  • Design, implement activities and wellness programmes that focuses on building elderly’s self-help capacity including
  • On-site active ageing programmes
  • Organising and participation in community events and outings
  • Ensure compliance to Finance and Human Resource Policies, maintaining documentation for audits facilitated by Corporate Services
  • Prepare data for submission to MOH and AIC which includes but not limited to
  • Register of all volunteers, befriendees and home visits records
  • Register of Information and Referrals done for befriendees
  • Client satisfaction surveys
Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in social service or healthcare related areas will be preferred.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

Working conditions:

  • Weekdays office hours
  • Volunteer training sessions on Saturdays with time off in lieu.
  • Interaction with elderly members and volunteers
  • Home visits for befriending visits
